Shekarau meets Tinubu after taking over Kano APC

A former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau on Sunday visited the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos.

His visit was coming after a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, validated his faction of APC in the state as authentic.

Recall that Justice Hamza Muazu had on November 30 nullified the ward congresses conducted by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje led faction and declared valid the activities of Shekarau’s group.

Though the purpose of Shekarau’s meeting with Tinubu is yet to be disclosed, sources in the party said it would not be far from alignment ahead of the 2023 general election.

Ganduje is one of Tinubu’s strongest allies in the North and has spearheaded the ex-Lagos governor’s 2023 presidential bid in the region.

However, pundits are of the opinion that Tinubu must find a way to put both Gaduje and Shekarau on the same page in order to get a grip on Kano State ahead of the 2023 presidency.
