Apparently following kicks by Nigerians, the Federal Government has put on hold its move to stop subsidising the price of petrol.

The government had hinted that it planned to stop subsidy payments on petroleum products from July this year.

However, Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, announced the suspension of the move during a meeting held at the National Assembly on Monday in Abuja, at the instance of Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Senate.

Others at the meeting aside from Mrs Ahmed, were Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources; Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director, NNPC Limited.
