Lagos collapsed building: Death toll rises to six

Four more male commodities have been recovered from the scene of the collapsed building at Oniru, Lekki area of Lagos State.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Oluwafemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said this on Monday.

He added that though the operation is at Ground Zero, on Tuesday (Day 3) operation will move to the middle level. He noted that the operation is still ongoing.

Two corpses were recovered on Sunday and with Monday’s addition of four, the death toll now rising to six.

FirstNews earlier reported that the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako has resigned.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced Salako’s resignation in a statement posted on his Twitter post on Monday.

It was gathered that Salako’s resignation is propelled by the waves of the collapsed buildings in Lagos State, especially that of Sunday in the Oniru area of Lagos State.
