APC Chairman, Adamu Loses poling unit again

Ibraheem Hamza Muhammad

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has again lost his polling unit to the opposition.

This time round, Adamu lost to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP at the governorship election in the state.

Recall that the APC chairman lost his polling unit to the Labour Party at the recently conducted presidential/National Assembly elections.

The election held today, March 18, 2023, saw the PDP emerge victorious at the unit located in the heart of Keffi, Nasarawa State.

According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the PDP candidate polled 159 votes to defeat the APC candidate, who secured 129 votes. The Social Democratic Party got just one vote at the unit.

The defeat of Abdullahi Adamu, who is the present National Chairman of the APC and a former governor of Nasarawa State and a senator representing the Nasarawa West Senatorial District, at his polling unit is a significant setback for the APC, which had been hoping to win the state in the ongoing elections.

As of the time of filing this report, results from other polling units in the state were still being collated and yet to be announced. The election has been generally peaceful and the turnout has been impressive so far.
