The last thing I would want to think about on a Monday morning, while running late for work, after having a blast at a party the previous night, is what I should do to my natural hair.
The sad part of this entire scenario is that sometimes – or i feel- my natural 4C hair knows when i am running late or having a busy morning where there is no time to figure out why the gel i have been using all my life refuses to sit in my hair or why my side swoop is puffing up.
And it is at these precarious moments that my hair decides to play mischief. Thankfully, i have been able to win time and time again with this easy hairstyles below:
The Low Bun

This hairstyle is not only low effort but it also gives your final look an elegant finish. This can be achieved by using an elastic hair band or shoe lace, some gel, leave-in conditioner, and some water to moisten the hair strands.
All you have to do is pull back your hair in sections after spritzing it with some water and leave-in conditioner, depending on the thickness and length of your hair, and tie it up behind using your shoelace or elastic hair band.
You may want to add a zig-zag middle parting or lay your edges with some get in order to make it seem like you have put in a lot of work. This hair style usually takes about five to 10 minutes to get completed.
The Flat Twist
Just as the name implies this style requires for your hair to be twisted down flat to your scalp. This is another low effort hairstyle that can be relied upon on a busy day. Its final look is extremely gorgeous and clean when it is done right. Depending on the amount of twists you want, this style could take up to ten to about twenty minutes.
Headwraps
Over the years, head wraps and gears have paved their way into the hair community, this could also be attributed to the influence of religion and our cultures. However , you do not have to belong to a particular religion or tribe before you are granted the permission to wear your hair in a headwrap. So, go ahead and try the scarf or ready-made head wrap for your next meeting.
